Β Β Β Β Mali is one of the poorest countries in the whole world, but this amazing country has one of the strongest religions. This country is located in North-West Africa. Mali has only been an independent country since the 22nd of September in 1960!
Β Β Β Mali is a beautiful place with amazing foods! A typical dish for a Malian family is Riz Au Graz. This is a dish of rice with vegetables and types of meat like lamb, beef, chicken, and fresh or smoked fish. Another traditional dish in Mali is Jollof Rice. This is rice with tomatoes, vegetables, and assorted types of meat. As you can see Malians eat a lot of rice and veggies such as onions, tomatoes, carrots, eggplants, plantains, and yams. Tiguadege Na is the national dish in Mali. It is a platter of chicken and/or lamb in peanut sauce. To top off the meal with a sweet touch they will add fruits like mangoes, bananas, watermelon, and lemons.
Β Β Β Mali has a lot of very unique cultures that are all different and diverse from one another. A very common Mali Culture is Sunni Islam and it is practiced in more than 90% of Mali. Another very common culture is Christianity which is the study of the teachings of Jesus. A few other common cultures that are practices throughout Mali are Islam, Song hay, Boza fishers, Dogon People, Muslims, and Fuiani.
Β Β Β Β Mali has a very unique and creative sense of style which includes their jewelry. MaliansΒ wear bracelets, necklaces, earrings and more. A typical Mali piece of jewelry is made up of wooden beads, hide, porcupine quills, bone, animal teeth, seed, nuts, shells, ivory, carved stones, or medal charms. Malians also wear traditional cultural face masks for style. A common type of face mask is called Kanaga mask. These masks are worn in dances, cultural celebrations, and ceremonies. Many Mali women wear something called a Gele. These are head scarves women were mainly because of their religious culture but are also worn for protection from the heat or just for style.

Mali itself is mostly famous for tie-dyed clothing and also for bright patterns colors and prints in their garments. Malians also wear neutral colors with many patterns.
